R&B Star Maxwell’s South African Tour Cancelled Due to Unforeseen Circumstances

Fans who were hoping to see the Grammy-winning R&B singer and songwriter, Maxwell, in his famously beloved home-away-from-home in South Africa next week will have to wait a little longer because organizers have announced that his highly anticipated concerts have been cancelled.

The event management company, Vertex Events, confirmed on Monday that Maxwell’s concerts scheduled for August 8 at the SunBet Arena in Pretoria and August 11 at the Grand Arena, Grand West in Cape Town will no longer take place due to unforeseen circumstances beyond the artist’s control.

According to Vertex Events, Maxwell’s team informed the company that the singer would no longer be able to come to South Africa to perform, despite efforts from both sides to find alternative solutions.

“Several options were explored between Maxwell’s team and Vertex Events. Unfortunately, the only remaining option was to cancel the concerts,” the event organizer said in a statement, adding that these circumstances are beyond the control of both the organizers and the artist.

In a message to his South African fans, Maxwell expressed his sadness over the cancellation of the events.

“Due to unforeseen circumstances beyond my control, unfortunately, I will no longer be able to perform in South Africa as planned. This decision was not taken lightly. I am deeply sorry to everyone who was looking forward to these concerts. Thank you for your understanding and your continued support. I hope to be with you all soon,” he said.

All ticket holders will receive a full refund.
