Police Seek Help to Find Mother of Abandoned Baby in Cala

CALA- The Eastern Cape police are looking for the mother of a baby boy who was found abandoned on Saturday, June 28.

The baby, just about four weeks old was discovered alive and in need of care.

Captain Namhla Mdleleni, a spokesperson for the police, reported that officers from the Family Violence, Child Protection, and Sexual Offenses (FCS) Unit responded to a call and found the baby in a vulnerable state.

He has since been taken to the hospital for a medical examination, and a case of child neglect has been opened.

The police are urging anyone with information that could help find the baby’s mother to come forward.

This incident comes on the heels of two recent baby abductions in Gauteng, where two infants were successfully recovered thanks to strong security measures and cooperation between health officials and law enforcement.
