Police Captain Accused of Million Rand Heist Granted Bail

EAST LONDON- In an unexpected turn of events, Police Captain Ntombekhaya Patricia August(49), has been granted bail of R4000 by the East London Magistrate Court on the 23rd of January 2025.

The allegations against her are as serious as they come, accused of stealing over R1 million from the Crime Intelligence Offices in East London and obstructing justice.

August allegedly orchestrated a robbery by staging a scene where a man entered her office, brandishing a firearm and demanding cash.

Startlingly, August reportedly complied, leading to the man fleeing with the stolen money. This incident has sent shockwaves through the community, with many questioning the captain’s motives and actions.
