Afrika Unite Cultural International Festival Returns Bigger and Better on December 15

The much-anticipated Afrika Unite Cultural International Festival (AUCIF) is set to deliver unforgettable Sunday chill vibes filled with enjoyment, love, and African unity. Tickets are available for R200 at Webtickets, Shoprite, Checkers stores, and on the Computicket website.

Originally scheduled for September 27, the 6th annual festival was postponed to December 15 due to a Premier Soccer League fixture. Despite this setback, the event promises to be bigger and better, with an exciting lineup of activities and performances.

“One United Afrika”: The Festival’s Purpose
The core mission of AUCIF is to promote African unity under its theme, “One United Afrika.” The festival is more than just entertainment; it is an initiative that fosters a sense of togetherness among Africans.

Event founder Luzuko Khohli shared insights into the challenges they faced due to the date change, including financial hurdles such as rebooking flights and accommodations for the artists. Despite these obstacles, Khohli expressed optimism:
“We are ready to entertain our people. We have been anticipating this with huge excitement. God is with us all the way and rescues us from all trials and tribulations,” he said, reassuring fans and supporters.

New Additions to the Lineup
Event manager Sinethemba Gayiza highlighted the silver lining of the rescheduling: the inclusion of more artists. This year’s lineup features sensational performers such as Semito, Lloyiso, Amapiano star Scotts Maphuma, Mlindo the Vocalist, and local gospel DJ Groovie Christ.
Gayiza also announced a special exhibition soccer match between Kaizer Chiefs fans, led by Man-B, and Orlando Pirates fans, led by Qhawe, adding a unique and engaging element to the festivities.

Support from Key Partners
The festival has been made possible through funding from the Department of Sport, Recreation, Arts, and Culture (DSRAC) under the Mzantsi Golden Economy program. DSRAC Communication Manager Andile Nduna stated:
“The department sees festivals of this nature as vital to fulfilling its multifaceted mandate to develop and advance all forms of art in our province.”

In addition, the Eastern Cape Parks and Tourism Agency (ECPTA) has partnered with AUCIF to showcase the region’s beauty and promote sustainable travel. ECPTA CEO emphasized the importance of supporting events like AUCIF, saying:
“These events highlight our breathtaking destinations, foster community engagement, and drive economic growth in the province.”

With its diverse offerings, the Afrika Unite Cultural International Festival promises to be a landmark event, uniting Africans through music, sport, and culture. Don’t miss this celebration of heritage and unity on December 15!
