King Misuzulu kaZwelithini’s convoy was involved in a minor accident near Vryheid in northern KwaZulu-Natal on Tuesday. The Zulu king was unharmed and is reported to be in good spirits following the incident.
Reverend Thulasizwe Buthelezi, Traditional Prime Minister to the Zulu Nation, confirmed that the accident occurred on the R34 road when the convoy allegedly collided with a VW Polo and veered off the road. “His Majesty is well and emerged unscathed. I spoke with him last night, and he conveyed that the incident was minor,” Buthelezi said.
Assuring the nation of the king’s well-being, Buthelezi added that the monarch would maintain his regular schedule, including presiding over the opening of the Princess Mkabayi Regional Mall in Vryheid on Wednesday. Local police are expected to investigate the accident further.
