In a stunning display of academic prowess, the Matric Class of 2024 has shattered records with a historic pass rate of 87.3%, the highest South Africa has seen since the dawn of democracy. At the forefront of this success story, Eastern Cape Province emerged triumphant with an impressive 85% pass rate, a testament to the province’s dedication to academic excellence.
On January 14th, the province’s top three learners, Vikesh Diya Gajjar, Christian Stephanus Joubert and Sivikele Majebe, were recognized for their outstanding academic achievements at an event hosted by the Premier’s Office in East London ICC.
The Eastern Cape Premier Lubabalo Oscar Mabuyane extended heartfelt congratulations to the Matric Class of 2024, praising their exceptional hard work and dedication in achieving a remarkable 87.3% pass rate in the NSC exams. Mabuyane emphasized the importance of perseverance and determination, assuring those who may not have achieved their desired results that their potential is limitless and this is merely an opportunity for growth.
Pearson High School, located in Nelson Mandela Metro, can proudly claim two of the province’s most exceptional learners, Vikesh Diya Gajjar and Christian Stephanus Joubert, both of whom earned a remarkable joint first place in the provincial rankings. Sivikele Majebe from Xolilizwe Senior Secondary School also claimed an impressive second position.
