Double Murder Shocks Ncera Community

ALICE- A devastating incident has rocked the Upper Ncera community outside Alice in where two elderly sisters aged 75 and 85 were brutally shot and killed in their home on 13 May 2025.

According to Provincial police spokesperson Lieutenant Siphokazi Mawisa the sisters were sleeping in their four-room house when unknown suspects forcefully entered and fatally shot them. Police arrived at the scene to find the bodies with gunshot wounds to their upper bodies.

Furthermore, the horrific crime has sparked a strong response from law enforcement. Acting Provincial Police Commissioner, Major General Thandiswa Kupiso, has called on the investigating team to work tirelessly to bring the perpetrators to justice.

“Violence against women, children and elderly people is unacceptable and the South African Police Service is committed to protecting the vulnerable in society against the increase of gender-based violence,” Major General Kupiso emphasized.

As investigations continue, authorities have yet to uncover any leads on the suspects involved in the double homicide.
