A COUNTDOWN TO MAKING EASTERN CAPE PROUD

Inspired by the likes of Zola 7 who made the best music, Lindokuhle Mjolo said he didn’t know he had the ability to write or produce music until they were given a task to create a song by their grade 4 teacher, he said art took over and stood out. Mjolo all the way from Dimbaza in the Eastern Cape, shared his journey as he is now one of the top 200 candidates participating in Business and Arts South Africa.


His journey started as a freestyle artist until proceeding as a photographer in 2022, where he is now focusing on that. “As a photographer, I worked with Nonceba High School in a ‘no bullying’ campaign, and was able to share my work with the Department of Correctional Services, SAPS, SABC and other departments that were there” said Mjolo.

Adding he said he joined the Flash Ikumkani high school tours as a camera man and because of his music career he also got the opportunity to be interviewed at Forte FM. Mjolo said he has been hosting tune ins with Land mindz, Killer iGrootman same year and were able to book Zadwesh and Luthando Mzi Quwe. ‘Ever since then I’ve been hosting tune ins with my company LM Visions and I also perform” he said.

In 2022 he was a SEF ambassador for Small Project Foundation as a community worker, together with his team they hosted a ‘no bullying’ campaign and quad ball at school and it was successful.


Currently he is with Business and Arts South Africa and the only candidate representing Qonce, from 2160 candidates to 200 candidates waiting top 100 in few weeks. Business Arts South Africa (BASA) was founded in 1997 as a joint initiative between government and private sector as part of a strategy to secure greater involvement in the arts, cultural and heritage sectors.

BASA offers innovative programmes that provides and support knowledge transfer, skills development and training in the cultural and creative sectors. Mjolo said he once received funds from BASA’s Hlanganisa which he bought his equipment with, he said that it is indeed an honour to represent his province and he hopes to be in the top 20.
