Advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane was facing 5 charges so the other 4 charges are linked to the main charge, which means that with the main charge having been withdrawn, then the other 4 charges will be withdrawn, Advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane appeared at the Pretoria Regional Court today & set to appear again on 26 August 2026.
Advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane is facing these charges, from her Public Protector report that ordered ABSA Bank to pay back the R3, 2 billion that ABSA illegally got from the SA Reserve Bank.
The Constitutional Court judges had also ordered Advocate Mkhwebane to personally pay the legal fees of ABSA & the SA Reserve Bank when they took her ABSA report on review, but South Africans crowd funded, donating from even R10 each, to pay the R260 000 legal fees.
As Public Protector, Advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane’s leadership achieved the first ever Clean Audit for the Office of the Public Protector, since the institution was first established in 1996, & continued to achieve 2 more consecutive Clean Audits until the ANC & DA ganged up on her to remove her
